Activity Plan Home Page

Activity Plan Home Page

The home page of the Life Sciences Commercial app gives sales representatives and managers a data-rich view of their activity plan goals. The embedded Activity Plan component pairs a high-level goal summary with a granular, product-by-product performance view, set as the default experience to surface strategic goals. Apply filters to compare actual and potential goal completion rates.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.

The Activity Plan homepage shows the Activity Plan by Product component on the Web, and the Activity Plan Progress component on the iPad, if configured. Find out more about the key characteristics of the components on the Activity Plan homepage.

  • The Activity Plan By Product component is only available for activity plans of type Account Goal and Weighted Territory Goal. It's not available for activity plans of the type Account Goal Shared.
  • When you add the Activity Plan By Product component ito any page other than the home page, the default version shows on both web and mobile.
  • The Activity Plan Progress widget assigns one of three statuses based on a field user's completed activities compared to the expected count at an even pace across the cycle. A field user who has completed 110% or more of expected activities is Exceeding pace. Between 90% and 109% is At Pace. Less than 90% is At Risk. For example, if a cycle is 100 working days long and the target is 120 activities, a field user on day 50 is expected to have completed 60 activities. If they've done 57, that's 95% of expected, so they would be At Pace. The band accounts for normal day-to-day variation, such as scheduling gaps, holidays, or call cancelations. These thresholds aren't configurable.
  • Completed and planned activity plans are represented by blue and purple progress bars, respectively. When the progress of the completed and planned activity plans are equal, only the blue bar is visible because it overlays the purple bar. The purple bar is visible only when the progress of the planned activity plans is either behind or ahead of the completed progress bar.
  • Today's Pace compares a field user's current completed count against a target for today. The target is the prorated goal, which is the share of the total goal that a user working at an even pace is expected to have completed by today. The prorated goal is calculated as the number of calendar days elapsed since the plan cycle's start date, divided by a denominator, and then multiplied by the total goal. The denominator depends on whether working days calculations are turned on for activity plans:
    • When working days calculations are turned on, the denominator is the working days defined on the plan cycle.
    • When working days calculations are turned off, the denominator is the total number of calendar days in the plan cycle, which is the end date minus the start date, plus one. The working days value isn't used.
On the Life Sciences Cloud mobile app, this metric appears as Today's Pace with Current and Target values. The web app labels the goal Activity Goal and doesn't show the current-pace value. To configure working days calculations, see Configure Working Days Calculation for Activity Plans.
