Configure Sharing Rules for Action Plan Templates

By default, action plan templates are design-time objects that only the record owner can access. To enable sales representatives and other internal users to view and use action plan templates for provider engagement compliance, configure sharing rules to grant broader access within your organization.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
User Permissions Needed
To configure sharing rules for action plan templates: Life Science Commercial Admin permission set
  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Sharing Settings, and then select Sharing Settings.
  2. In the Sharing Rules section, locate Action Plan Template and click New.
  3. Configure the sharing rule:
    • Label: Enter a descriptive name for the rule (for example, "All Internal Users - Action Plan Templates")
    • Rule Name: The API name auto-populates based on your label
    • Description: (Optional) Add context about the rule's purpose
  4. In the Select your rule type section, select Based on record owner.
  5. For Share records owned by, select All Internal Users.
  6. In the Share with section:
    • Select All Internal Users
    • Set the access level to Read Only
  7. Save your changes.
    Note
    Note After you save, the system recalculates record sharing. This process takes approximately 2–3 seconds. When complete, all internal users can view the Action Plan Template and its associated items.
