Compliance Management
Provide event organizers with quick access to organizational policies and regulatory requirements concerning an event. Configure compliance statements that provide regulatory guidance and require acknowledgement before the organizer can proceed with the event. Organizers can affirm their understanding and capture their acknowledgement from within the event workflow itself.

How Compliance Works
To embed the policy statements in the workflow, first configure the Life Sciences Events: Compliance Statements Lightning App Builder component onto the Managed Event’s record page. Define the number of statements for which the responses are automatically saved by the system. When a Managed Event record is created, the MngEventComplianceStatementsHandler trigger handler fetches the statements from the Compliance Statement Definition records, and populates the Managed Event object’s Compliance Statements field in JSON format. Only Compliance Statement Definition records of Compliance Note or Compliance Agreement statement type, of Managed Event module type and with the statement text filled in are eligible for the Compliance Statement component. After the organizer responds, the system updates the JSON with the responses and adjusts values in the Compliance Agreement Status field accordingly.
Compliance Statement Definition continues to have the status as Agreement Required, till all the mandatory compliance statements are accepted. After the statements are accepted, the status changes to Agreed.
Alternatively, choose to define disclaimers and terms and conditions in the compliance statements.
Only organizers and coorganizers of an event can respond to compliance statements.
Compliance Sharing
For compliance statements to work as expected, create criteria-based sharing rules or share Compliance Statement Definition records with a public group or territory. For more information, see Create Sharing Rules.
Create a Compliance Statement Definition
To add event disclaimers, notes, acknowledgements, and related statements, create a Compliance Statement Definition record.
- For a compliance statement to be automatically added to a managed event, make sure you activate the MngEventComplianceStatementsHandler trigger handler.
- Set up participant roles, and add the organizer as an event participant.
- Add the Life Sciences Events: Compliance Statements Lightning App Builder component on the Managed Event’s record page.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Compliance Statement Definitions.
- Click New.

Select a statement type.
- To add informational statement, choose Compliance Note.
- To add a statement that users must acknowledge, choose Compliance Agreement.
- For Module Type, select Managed Event.

Enter the compliance statement.
For example, I confirm that I have read and agree to comply with company policies regarding event management.
This field is mandatory for statements to be displayed in the Life Sciences Events: Compliance Statements Lightning App Builder component.
- For Usage Type, select Life Sciences.
- For Statement Requirement Level, select whether the statement is optional or mandatory.
- Select a display order.
- Save your changes.
