To help sales reps comply with regulatory standards while distributing samples, create
state distributor license (SDL) validations. This configuration ensures that the person or the
facility that distributes high-risk products, such as those categorized as dangerous drugs, has
the necessary license to do so.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life
Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the
Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
User Permissions Needed
To create license validations:
Life Sciences Commercial Admin permission set
Note Make sure you've created a custom formula field on the Business License
object.
From the App Launcher, find and select Admin Console.
Select License Management.
In the left navigation pane, select State Distributor License
Setup.
Make these changes.
Choose whether this setting applies to the org or to a specific profile.
In the License Validity Check section, specify the validation formula by selecting the
custom formula that you configured in the Business License Object.
To change the formula configured on the Business License object, select Modify
Formula.
Select Evaluate license validity and show icon in visits.
Move the states that require the license validation evaluation to the Selected Values
list.
Save your changes.
