Before you begin, create account and person account record types so users can use these record types to filter and refine their account lists. See Create Record Types.
- From the App Launcher, select Admin Console.
- Select Account Management, and then select Account Search Preferences.
- Select whether to apply the settings to all the profiles in your org or to a specific profile.
-
In the Additional Search Preferences section, configure the search settings.

Note To show accounts accurately in map view, verify that the primary or preferred address includes geolocation data. To update this data, activate data integration rules on the contact point address, which uses the Google Maps API to calculate latitude, longitude, and accuracy. Alternatively, manually update the data by selecting Check for New Data from the record's action menu. For accurate distance calculations, turn on location services on the devices. -
Move the record type filters that you want to use to Selected Values.
These filters are included by default: All, HCP, and HCO. HCP includes accounts where the
IsPersonAccountfield on the account object equalsTrue. HCO includes accounts where theIsPersonAccountfield equalsFalse. -
To define the default account type filter, select an option from Default Account
Type Filters.
Make sure that your default filter is in the Selected Values list. If it isn’t in the list, the default is All.
- Save your changes.
