Configure Quote Approval Decision Outcomes

Define what happens after a manager approves or rejects an unlock request. Approving the request unlocks the quote and returns its status to Draft, so your field reps can edit and resubmit. Rejecting the request changes the status to Rejected and keeps the quote locked. Either way, the flow notifies the field rep of the outcome.

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
User Permissions Needed
To configure quote approval decision outcomes: Life Sciences Commercial Admin

Before you start: Complete Configure Quote Status Check Decision Outcome up to the point where it links to this task.

  1. When an approver approves a quote, configure outcome 1 with these settings.
    • Status: {!Pending_for_Manager_Approval_for_Unlock.Outputs.approvalDecision} = Approve
    • Condition Requirements: All Conditions Are Met (AND)
    1. Add a stage Send Approval Notifications with a background step configured with these settings.
      • Select When to Start the Step: When the stage starts, the step starts
      • Action: Select the flow for sending quote notifications. See Configure Lock Notification Flow.
      • ApprovalDecision input: {!Pending_for_Manager_Approval_for_Unlock.Outputs.approvalDecision}
      • QuoteApprovedorRejectedReason input: {!Pending_for_Manager_Approval_for_Unlock.Outputs.approvalComments}
      • QuoteId: Triggering Quote > Quote ID {!$Record.Id}
      • User type: Select a user who has full access to update a quote. For example, an admin.
  2. When an approver rejects a quote, configure outcome 2 with these settings.
    • Status: {!Pending_for_Manager_Approval_for_Unlock.Outputs.approvalDecision} = Reject
    • Condition Requirements: All Conditions Are Met (AND)
    1. Add a stage Send Rejection Notification with a background step configured with these settings.
      • When to Start: When the stage starts
      • Action: Select the flow that you created for sending quote notifications. See Configure Lock Notification Flow.
      • ApprovalDecision input: {!Pending_for_Manager_Approval_for_Unlock.Outputs.approvalDecision}
      • QuoteApprovedorRejectedReason input: {!Pending_for_Manager_Approval_for_Unlock.Outputs.approvalComments}
      • QuoteId: Triggering Quote > Quote ID {!$Record.Id}
      • Run As: Select a user who has full access to update a quote. For example, an admin.
  3. Save and activate the flow.
