Configure Quote Status Check Decision Outcome

For each outcome in the quote status decision, configure the stage, steps, and actions that determine how the approval flow routes an unlock request or notifies stakeholders when a quote is locked.

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
User Permissions Needed
To configure the quote status check decision outcome: Life Sciences Commercial Admin

Define what happens along each path of the quote status decision you created in Configure an Approval Flow. Configure the actions for each outcome. For example, routing the quote to the approver when the status is Request for Unlock, or notifying stakeholders when the status is Submitted. These outcome-specific actions determine how the flow responds to each quote status before updating stakeholders and finalizing the approval routing.

Before you start: Complete steps 1–5 of Configure an Approval Flow.

  1. For Outcome 1, configure a stage to send the quote for manager approval.
    1. Add Step 1 as the approval step with these settings.
      • Label: Pending for Manager Approval for Unlock
      • When to Start: When the stage starts
      • When to Complete: When the assigned user has completed the action
      • Action Type: Approvals Workflow: Evaluate Approval Requests
      • Approver Type: Resource
      • Resource: {!approver}
      • Record ID: Triggering Quote > Quote ID {!$Record.Id}
      • Lock Record: No
      • Allow Approver Edit: No
    2. Add Step 2 as a background step for sending notifications with these settings.
      Note
      Note Before you start configuring this step, make sure you create an auto-launched flow for sending notifications. See Configure Lock Notification Flow.
      • Label: Send Notifications
      • When to Start: When the stage starts
      • Action: Select the flow created for sending quote notifications
      • QuoteId: Triggering Quote > Quote ID {!$Record.Id}
      • Run As: Automated Process User
    3. Add a decision to check whether submitted approval requests are approved or rejected.
      • Label: Quote Approved or Rejected for Unlock?
    4. Configure the outcomes. See Configure Quote Approval Decision Outcomes.
  2. For Outcome 2, configure a stage for sending notifications when a quote is locked with these settings.
    • Label: Send Notifications When Quote is Locked
    • When to Start: When the stage starts
    • When to Complete: When the assigned user has completed the action
    • Action: Select the flow that you created for sending quote notifications. See Configure Lock Notification Flow.
    • QuoteId: Triggering Quote > Quote ID {!$Record.Id}
    • Run As: Automated Process User
