Create a Workflow Path

Create a workflow path on the Quote object and configure the Draft, Submitted, and Request for Unlock stages to control when quotes are locked and unlocked.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
User Permissions Needed
To create a workflow path: Life Sciences Commercial Admin
  1. From the App Launcher, find and select Admin Console.
  2. Select Workflow Configuration, and then select Workflow Paths.
  3. Click New.
  4. Enter a name.
  5. For Object, select Quote.
  6. For Field API Name, select Status.
  7. To apply the workflow to a specific quote type, select a record type.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Click the workflow path.
  10. Configure the Draft stage.
    1. Click Draft, and then click + under Stage Operations.
    2. Enter a name for the operation.
    3. Select Create, Edit, and Delete.
    4. For Priority, enter 1.
    5. To add a Stage Operation Action, select action as Submit.
  11. Configure the Submitted stage.
    1. Click Submitted, and then under the Submitted stage, click +.
    2. Enter a name for the operation.
    3. Deselect Create, Edit, and Delete.
    4. For Priority, enter 1.
    5. To add a Stage Operation Action, select action as Request for Unlock.
  12. Configure the Request for Unlock stage.
    The Request for Unlock stage keeps the quote locked while an approval is pending.
    1. Click Request for Unlock, and then under the Submitted stage, click +.
    2. Enter a name for the operation.
    3. Deselect Create, Edit, and Delete.
    4. For Priority, enter 1.
  13. Save and activate the workflow path.
