Extend Sales Transaction Context

SalesTransactionContext is a predefined context definition that maps sales transactions to objects, such as Quote, Asset, and Order. Extend the standard definition to preserve the nodes and attributes your custom configuration needs.

A field's value persists on iPad only if the field is included in an active Sales Transaction Context. This applies to standard fields as well as custom fields, and to the Quote header as well as quote lines. So, if you create a custom field, add it to an active Sales Transaction Context.

Important If you use Life Sciences workflow to lock quotes by record type, make sure RecordTypeId is included in your Sales Transaction Context. If it isn't mapped, a quote's record type can be cleared when the quote is saved on iPad — and the workflow path scoped to that record type no longer applies, so quote locking silently stops working for that quote.

Note When you map fields into your extended context, check for context tags with similar or identical names. Mapping the wrong tag doesn't raise an error; the pricing engine just skips that calculation, so the value you expected doesn't apply.
