            Set Up Microsoft Teams for Remote Engagement

            Use Microsoft Teams as the collaboration platform for remote engagement sessions. Sales reps planned visits in Life Sciences Customer Engagement to generate Microsoft Teams meeting links and send email invitations and calendar events. To reduce friction and align with organizational requirements, healthcare professionals (HCPs) join remote sessions by using their existing Microsoft Teams accounts.

            Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.

            You use your own Microsoft Teams tenant and licenses for remote engagement to keep governance and security policies under your control. From Setup, configure named and external credentials so that field users can connect Microsoft Teams and Life Sciences Customer Engagement. In the Admin Console, manage access to Microsoft Teams for remote engagement and define how HCPs receive email invitations.

            To conduct remote visits, field users download the Microsoft Teams mobile app and authenticate to Microsoft Teams. Starting a session from the Visit Engagement page opens the meeting directly in Microsoft Teams.

            During remote sessions, field users can share their screens in Microsoft Teams and then return to Life Sciences Customer Engagement to present approved content from the presentation player. Life Sciences Customer Engagement captures account-level visit details and presentation metrics about the content shared. System logs help you troubleshoot issues with link generation, authentication, and so on.

            • Configure Credentials for Remote Engagement with Microsoft Teams
              The Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package includes the named and external credentials that support remote engagement with Microsoft Teams. To complete the setup, register an application in Microsoft Azure. Then, use the Microsoft Azure app details to update the named credential configuration in your Salesforce org. The named credential configuration enables secure authentication between Salesforce and Microsoft Teams and allows Life Sciences Customer Engagement to create and start Microsoft Teams meetings on behalf of users.
            • Configure Remote Engagement Settings for Microsoft Teams
              To enable field users to conduct remote engagement sessions with Microsoft Teams, configure settings in the Admin Console. Remote visit settings define how users schedule sessions. Invitation settings control how healthcare professionals (HCPs) receive meeting invitations and calendar events.
            • Meeting Invitations for Remote Engagement with Microsoft Teams
              When you use Microsoft Teams as the service provider for remote engagement sessions, healthcare professionals (HCPs) receive meeting invitations and calendar events based on the visit lifecycle and the invitation delivery method. Review how different scenarios can impact email delivery and calendar events to make sure that HCPs have the correct meeting information.
