Tableau Next is a composable, AI-analytics platform that turns any type of data into actionable insights. Tableau Next depends on Data 360 and the Data 360 semantic layer. Use Data 360 or Tableau Next to design and use the semantic models used by Tableau Next. You perform all setup in Data 360 and Tableau Next in order for a user to view their metrics in the Life Sciences Cloud mobile app. You can base metrics on standard data objects Salesforce has in Data 360 or you can build custom DLO/DMOs.

Set Up a Dedicated Tab for User Metrics
Use the Mobile UI Settings tile in the Admin Console to set up a tab for user metrics in the mobile app.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Admin Console.
- Select Mobile, and then select UI Settings.
- Click New.
- For Label, enter a display name for the tab. For example, enter Tableau or Tableau Next.
- For Name, enter a unique API name for the tab. This mobile app doesn’t use this setting.
- For Mobile UI Type, select Tab.
- For Tab Name, enter a value for the name of the navigation tab and the page heading. For example, enter Test Tableau. You can also enter a subheading for the page. For example, enter Followed Metrics. The tab name is the key metadata for the mobile app to find the related custom label to render translations.
- Select the profiles to which you want to assign this custom tab.
- Select Is Active to make the tab available in the mobile app.
- Save your changes.
Here’s an example of the UI settings filled in.

Here’s how the example appears in the mobile app.

Create a Custom Label for Multi-Language Deployments
Use custom labels for multi-language deployments. Create a custom label for the navigation tab name and the branding heading and subheading. For single language deployments, enter a hard-coded value in the language of all users in the Label field on the UI Settings page.
The custom label that you create is a separate custom label from the existing Tableau-managed custom label, which belongs to the Global category. The managed custom label doesn’t apply to this feature.
- From Setup, use the Quick Find box to find and select Custom Labels.
-
Click New, and enter data in these fields.
- For Short Description, enter Tableau.
- For Name, enter a unique name.
- For Categories, enter tabs (all lowercase).
- For Value, enter any value in the default language.
- Save your changes.
- Under the Translations heading for the custom label, click New to create translations for languages as needed.
-
Find and edit the Followed Metrics managed custom label.
- Click New Local Translations / Overrides to create or override translations for languages as needed. Local translations override packaged translations.
- For each local translation or override, select a language and enter the translation text, then save your changes.
Here’s an example of a saved custom label.
