          Configure Sample Inventory Validation

          Configure inventory validation to check if sales reps have sufficient physical stock when recording samples.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions with Life Sciences Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud for Customer Engagement Add-on license, and the Life Sciences Customer Engagement managed package.
          User Permissions Needed
          Modify objects, page layouts, and Lightning record pages: Customize Application
          Access the Admin Console to manage trigger handlers and generate the metadata cache: Life Sciences Commercial Admin permission set

          Make sure that the sample disbursement feature is configured. See Configure Sample Disbursement

          Note
          Note For a sample that requires a signature, validation runs when the field rep clicks Get Signature. If a signature isn't required, validation runs when the field rep clicks Submit.
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Life Sciences Commercial, and then click Admin Console | Visit Administration | Visit Settings | Samples and Items Settings.
          2. Select Validate sample inventory.
          3. For Sample Inventory Validation Mode, select Error or Warning.
            • Select Error to prevent recording drops that exceed inventory.
            • Select Warning to alert reps but allow them to proceed.
