          User Permissions Needed
Create and manage business license and business license product records, update product data, and translate custom labels: Customize Application
Access the Admin Console to enable SDL validation and generate the metadata cache: Life Sciences Commercial Admin permission set

Make sure that the following data is set up:

          • Create Business License records for your accounts with Compliance Scope set to State Distributor License. Ensure the Contact Point Address, State Distributor License Category, and License Number are populated.
          • For Limited Category II or III licenses, create Business License Product records to link specific products to licenses.
          • In LifeSciMarketableProduct, assign the appropriate SDL Category to your products.
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Life Sciences Commercial, and then click Admin Console | License Management.
          2. Enable SDL validation for the applicable states.

Licenses are validated using these rules:

            • If a product has no SDL Category, the license bypasses validation.
            • If the account address is marked as exempt, the user can provide Category II or III products.
            • HCPs with a Category II or III license can receive Category II products.
            • HCPs with a Category III license can receive Category III products.
            • HCPs with limited category licenses can only receive samples defined in a Business License Product record.
            Note
Note Licenses are validated during signature capture, document ID capture, or visit submission.
          3. Optional: To rename the SDL label:
            1. From Setup, search for and select Custom Labels.
            2. Locate the StateDistributorLicense label, click the name, and use New Local Translations/Overrides to define a new value.
          4. Generate the metadata cache. See Generate Metadata Cache.
