Configure State Distributor License Validation
Configure SDL validation to verify that healthcare professionals can receive samples categorized as dangerous drugs, such as Terminal Distributor of Dangerous Drugs (TDDD).

Make sure that the following data is set up:
- Create Business License records for your accounts with Compliance Scope set to State Distributor License. Ensure the Contact Point Address, State Distributor License Category, and License Number are populated.
- For Limited Category II or III licenses, create Business License Product records to link specific products to licenses.
- In LifeSciMarketableProduct, assign the appropriate SDL Category to your products.
- From the App Launcher, find and select Life Sciences Commercial, and then click Admin Console | License Management.

Enable SDL validation for the applicable states.
Licenses are validated using these rules:
- If a product has no SDL Category, the license bypasses validation.
- If the account address is marked as exempt, the user can provide Category II or III products.
- HCPs with a Category II or III license can receive Category II products.
- HCPs with a Category III license can receive Category III products.
- HCPs with limited category licenses can only receive samples defined in a Business License Product record.
Note Licenses are validated during signature capture, document ID capture, or visit submission. -
Optional: To rename the SDL label:
- From Setup, search for and select Custom Labels.
- Locate the StateDistributorLicense label, click the name, and use New Local Translations/Overrides to define a new value.
- Generate the metadata cache. See Generate Metadata Cache.
