The Visit Engagement page on iPad uses a hybrid architecture where app code controls some sections and Salesforce metadata controls others. Knowing what you can configure helps you plan changes and set accurate expectations with your field users.

What You Can Configure
The following customizations don't require app engineering changes and use standard
Salesforce admin tools:
Fields: Add or remove fields in the Visit Information
section by editing the Visit or ProviderVisit page layout. Use record-type-specific
layouts to show different fields for different visit types.
Field visibility: Control which users see which fields by using
field-level security.
Record types: Assign record types to customize the Visit Engagement experience
for different user roles or visit workflows.
Labels: Rename object, field, and tab labels by using
Rename Tabs and Labels in Setup, where supported.
Business settings: Configure visit validations and behavior in
Visit Settings in the Admin Console.
Limitations on iPad
iPad Visit Engagement has constraints that don't apply to the desktop site:
The Next Visit Objectives section always shows the Provider Visit Next Visit Objective Type and Provider Visit Next Visit Objective fields, regardless of where you place them in the page layout. Only these fields appear in this section.
Moving a field between major sections, for example, from the Visit Information header to a related area, requires app engineering changes rather than just a page layout edit.
Salesforce intentionally excludes some fields from the Visit Information header and shows them in dedicated sections instead.
To ensure consistent layout behavior between the iPad and the desktop site, align your configurations.
The Visit workflow design determines the arrangement of fields in the Visit Information header and related sections. To change these layouts, modify the app code rather than using page layout configuration alone.
