Integrate Your Ad Sales Business Processes with External Systems

Integrate Your Ad Sales Business Processes with External Systems

System integrators can use resources such as Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator, Salesforce Flow, and Mulesoft Direct to send a publisher's advertising sales information from Salesforce to external systems such as external ad server instances. System integrators can also use an integration definition to check ad placement availability in the external ad server instance and bring the information back to media plans in Salesforce.

  • Explore Advertising Sales Management Integration Options
System integrators can choose how they want to integrate external systems with Salesforce and make callouts to the external systems of the publisher's ad sales business. Before configuring the integrations, system integrations must decide their integration route.
  • Create a Named Credential for External Callouts in Advertising Sales Management
Named credentials enable system integrators to store the credentials of the external systems to which callouts are made. In case of publishers, system integrators must create a named credential for the external ad server instance or the middleware that connects Salesforce and the external ad server instance. For example, if media planners check ad placement availability and sales reps send ad campaign orders to the publisher’s external ad server instance, the system integrator must create a named credential for the external ad server.
  • Integration Definition for Advertising Sales Management
Integration definitions are the connective tissue between Salesforce and external systems. Integration definitions enable various Salesforce capabilities such as Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator, Salesforce Flow, and Mulesoft Direct apps make callouts to external systems. Advertising Sales Management comes with a standard provider that you can use to configure an integration definition for your ad sales business processes or you can create an Apex-based integration definition.
  • Ad Server Integration with Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator
System integrators can use the capabilities of Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator (DRO) to create a process that automatically create and amend order and order line items in the publisher's external ad server instance. System integrators can create a button on the Order page layout that enables sales reps to send order information and enables operations specialists to send amended line item information to the external ad server instance.
  • Ad Server Integration with Salesforce Flow
Advertising Sales Management provides the Execute External Ad Sales Request action in Salesforce Flow to enable system integrators to automate the process of sending advertisement campaign order information to external ad server instances. Unlike Dynamic Revenue Orchestrator, the action can be used in a flow that sends order data to ad servers in real-time or in batches as part of a larger business process. For example, if system integrators have already set up a flow to send updated advertiser and agency information to the ad server every night, they can add the Execute External Ad Sales Request action to the flow to ensure that order data is also sent at the same time.
  • Ad Server Integration with MuleSoft Direct
Media Cloud provides a set of purpose-built MuleSoft Direct apps that enable the integration between Advertising Sales Management and some of the most commonly used external ad servers, such as Google Ad Manager, FreeWheel, Triton, and xG Linear. The MuleSoft Direct apps are integration templates that system integrators can set up and extend based on the publisher's integration requirements.
  • Integration to Show Availability of Ad Placements in Media Plans
Advertising Sales Management provides media planners the ability to check the status of ad placements in the publisher's external ad servers while preparing media plans. The availability status is represented by icons on the Available Status column of the Ad Placements table in media plans. System integrators with the help of admins must complete a set of tasks to display availability status of ad placements in media plans.
