Pricing Calculation Logic
The pricing procedure for linear media products follows a specific sequence to determine the final product price.
| Available in: Lightning Experience |
| Available in: Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with Media Cloud- Advanced |
For calculating spot price, the system:
- Calculates the unit price and total price for each ad quote line units split (spot) record.
- Looks up to the rate card based on the ad space specification and line item fields.
- Sums the unit price for each applicable ad space specification to calculate the spot's unit price.
- Defaults to the price book entry table, if no matching rate card rows are available.
After pricing all spot records, the procedure aggregates the data to the line item level. The system:
- Sums the total price of all spot records for the line item.
- Sums the quantity of all spot records for the line item.
- Divides the aggregated total price by the aggregated total quantity to calculate the net unit price.
After determining the base price, the system applies attribute-based, bundle-based, or volume-based discounts to update the unit price.
