Create a Media Plan in Advertising Sales Management
Media planners can create media plans after advertisers or agencies have signed off on
the proposal that the publisher shared for their advertisement campaign or in parallel after the
media planner analyzes the campaign objectives. Sometimes, depending on the campaign timelines,
media planners directly start with the media plan and use the media plan as the proposal while
engaging with advertisers and agencies.

Before media planners can create a media plan for an advertisement campaign, they must make sure
that an opportunity is already available in Salesforce for the campaign. If an opportunity isn't
available, the media planner can create the opportunity with the campaign details or ask the
sales reps assigned to the advertiser or agency to create the opportunity. See Manage Advertisement
Campaigns.
From the opportunity of the advertisement campaign, click , and select Create Media Plan.
Review the details of the advertisement campaign and then enter the media plan
details:
Plan Name: Enter the name of the media plan
Budget: Enter the budget of the media plan based on the budget of the campaign
Start and end dates: Enter the period during which the media plan is proposed to run
based on the campaign period.
Media Type: Select Digital.
For term-based subscriptions, Salesforce automatically populates the end date when you
add a media placement. To update the subscription term, first clear the end date field, and
then enter the updated term. Salesforce recalculates the new end date. If you don't clear the
end date first, Salesforce interprets the subscription as date-based.
