Behavior of Attributes
Ad sales admins can configure various types of attributes for the ad products and services in the publisher's portfolio. When configuring attributes, ad sales admin can decide how attributes behave on media plans. The ad sales admin can decide whether media planners can:
The ad sales admin can configure attributes in different ways to decide whether media planners can:
- Edit the value of the attributes or whether the attributes are read-only
- Enter a value, select a value, or turn on an attribute
Apart from attribute configuration, ad sales admins can also design attribute rules in Standard Configurator. Based on an ad placement's related product or product classification, rules can:
- Set values for attributes
- Set default value for attributes
- Hide attributes or attribute values
- Set or hide attributes and attribute values based dependent attribute selections
For example, when the Size attribute for a digital banner is set to 160X600 pixels, the Is Collapsable attribute is automatically deselected and locked to make sure media planners can't change it.
- Display validation messages
On the Attribute tab, attributes are grouped by the attribute category that the attributes belong to. The attributes that are displayed for an ad placement or a service is decided by the product classification that was used to create the ad product or service. The attributes associated with the product classification are displayed on the tab.
The ad sales admin can configure price impacting attributes. So, the media planners can see a change in the price of ad placements based on the value that they select for attributes.
If a media planner isn't able to find an attribute that they want to set for an ad placement or for multiple ad placements in a media plan, they can ask the ad sales admin to verify their attribute or attribute rule configuration. See Create Attributes for Ad Products and Services and Design Attribute Rules for Ad Products and Services with Standard Configuration.
