Read-Only Mode on Media Plans

Read-Only Mode on Media Plans

Protect finalized media plans from accidental or unauthorized changes. Switch the media plan grid and related components to read-only mode based on the quote status.

When a quote reaches the In Approval or Closed status, the media planning interface turns off controls that create or update data. Media planners can still open the quote, review its line items, and export data, but they can't alter an approved or closed plan. Your Sales Ops team configures which statuses lock a quote and turn protection on or off without a deployment.

The media plan grid checks the quote's status against your configured list of read-only statuses when the page loads. If the status matches, the grid sets a shared read-only state that keeps the grid, side panel, and spot calendar in sync.

When read-only mode is active, it applies a consistent, protected experience across the media planning interface:

  • Media Plan Grid: You can't use Add Products, Check Availability, or Bulk Actions, and the Delete and Clone row actions aren't available.
  • Media Plan Side Panel: You can't edit fields, and controls such as save and cancel aren't available.
  • Spot Calendar Grid: You can refresh the grid and download the CSV, but can't perform the actions that create or update data.
  • Inventory Calendar: You can't select a read-only quote to add a placement to the media plan.

The grid checks the read-only state only when the page loads, and it doesn't show a banner when a quote locks. If a quote's status or configuration changes while you have the grid open, refresh the page to see the updated state.
