Manage Promotions in Subscriber Lifecycle Management
Promotions are a powerful tool for businesses to influence purchasing decisions and stimulate growth. Sales reps can view simple and term-based promotions applicable to a product on the Catalogs page. Apply these promotions to quotes and orders during the configuration process from the Sales Transaction Line Editor or Configurator. With term-based promotions, sales reps can apply a discount across a set number of terms and hold the customer to a commitment period. They can also view the reward duration and discount for each buying option before adding a product. The price waterfall shows real-time price adjustments that reflect the discounts. Sales reps can view applied promotions on assets, and efficiently manage products with promotions through amendment, renewal, and cancellation processes. For term-based promotions, the promotions available during an amendment depend on the pricing source of the asset.

Promotions Across Buying Options
When a product supports more than one Product Selling Model, it appears as multiple buying options. Compare the reward duration and discount for each buying option, and select the best one before you add the product.
When a product supports more than one Product Selling Model, the product list page shows the product as multiple buying options. A single term-based promotion can produce a different reward duration and discount value for each buying option. For example, the same promotion can show a 6-month benefit at one discount value for a monthly buying option, and a different duration or value for another.
View and Apply Promotions in Product Configurator
View products and promotions applicable to the product in a configurator. Promotions apply in different ways depending on their type. Automatic promotions apply on their own when you add an eligible product, and you can't remove them. Manual promotions appear in the product configurator so that you can apply them yourself. Open the configurator.
The Product Configurator window shows the number of available promotions.

Amend, Renew, and Cancel Assets with Promotions
Sales reps can use the Managed Asset viewer on your account to amend, renew, or cancel (ARC) assets that have promotions to meet the needs of your customers.
To amend, renew, and cancel assets, see Amend, Renew, and Cancel Assets.
Here are some of the considerations for ARC of assets with promotions.
- The eligible promotions available in the quote or order depend on the pricing source of the asset. When you amend an asset whose pricing source is list price, you can see previously applied promotions and apply new eligible promotions. By default, the pricing source is empty and is treated as list price. When you amend an asset whose pricing source is the last transaction price, you can see previously applied promotions but can't apply new promotions.
- When you renew an asset, the pricing source is a list price, and you can apply new promotions.
- When you cancel an asset, the pricing source is the last transaction price, and you can see the previously applied promotions.
- When a promotion is applied during an initial sale, amendment, or renewal, it generates an Asset Action Source Price Adjustment record for an asset. Each time users apply the same or different promotions in separate transactions, an Asset Action Source Promotion record is created for every transaction.
- Quantity editing on amended and renewed line items is turned off. In Revenue Cloud for Communications Settings, the Quantity Editing on Amended and Renewed Line Items toggle is turned off. If you don't use promotions, turn on this toggle to change quantities.
Here are some of the considerations for promotions.
-
Eligible promotions appear on an amended line only after the line is repriced. To reprice the line, change an attribute or add a child product.
