Use Net Zero Cloud’s United States Environmentally-Extended Input-Output (USEEIO)
dataset to match emissions factors with your company data or to import your own emissions factor
calculation model data.

Procurement emissions factor sets are the reference data used to compute emissions from
spending amounts. These datasets are derived from econometric models run in a particular
calendar year for a particular currency. Typically, procurement emissions factor sets are
set up to represent national or trans-national economies and their corresponding currencies,
as emissions rates per spent amount vary across the world. For information about loading
emissions factors reference data, see Manage Reference Data In Net Zero Cloud.
Procurement emissions factor sets contain a group of emissions factors for the same year and
currency as the dataset. Emissions factors are matched to a greenhouse gas (GHG) scope 3
category. Emissions factors are used with procurement data to calculate emissions and to
classify the emissions into GHG scope 3 categories.
Net Zero Cloud provides USEEIO procurement emissions factor sets. You can also import your own
emissions factor datasets. We recommend that you match all emissions factors to a GHG scope 3
category before using the procurement emissions factor sets with your procurement data. If
procurement data is matched to an uncategorized emissions factor, the emissions roll up into the
uncategorized scope 3 category.
Match Procurement Emissions Factor Sets to GHG Scope 3 Categories To normalize data for reporting, match Procurement Emissions Factor Sets to Greenhouse Gas Protocol scope 3 categories. Matching emissions to GHG categories eases matching procurement data to scope 3 categories later.
