When you change data, such as emissions factors, sometimes not all changes cascade to all records associated with your data. For example, if you change data in an electricity emissions factor set record, the energy use records that use the electricity emissions factor set record’s data aren’t automatically recalculated. To ensure that the energy use records, footprint records, footprint item records, scope 3 procurement summary, scope 3 procurement item, generated waste, or building energy intensity records don’t get out of sync, use the Recalculate action. When you recalculate a record, only its associated records are updated. If you turn on field history tracking on any of the objects and their fields, the changes resulting from record recalculation are automatically tracked.

Note
Note Only the user who created the record or who has Modify All Records access to the record can view or modify the record, including to recalculate the record. To enable a user to view or modify records created by other users, your Salesforce administrator must enable the Modify All Records access for the user on the required objects. For more information about setting permissions, see Troubleshoot Object and Record Access Issues.
  1. Select a footprint record.
  2. From the actions menu, select Recalculate.

Manually lock the records that you don’t want to recalculate by using Record Locking.

    Note
Note Users who don’t have the Modify All Records access to the required objects can’t see the Recalculate action in the quick actions.
    Note
Note Recalculation time depends on the number of records you have in Net Zero Cloud. Salesforce recommends that you run full recalculations overnight or on weekends.
