You are here:
Start a Manual Task
To start a manual task, all you need to do is go to its manual queue and click Pick Up or Run. The manual task then goes from the Ready state to the Running state. If the manual task has an OmniScript associated with it, then the OmniScript launches when the task is started.
- In Lightning Experience, click the App Launcher:
- In the search field, start typing Manual Queues, and then select Manual Queues from the list below.

- In the Manual Queues list, click the manual queue that contains the manual task. Note From release Spring '22, the Queue Items LWC component is available with improved UI and much of the same functionality as the older Manual Queue component. To use the newer component, add the Queue Items component to your Manual Queue page layout because it's not there by default (see Order Management LWC Components).
- Do one of the following things:
If you're in the Queue Items section: In the manual task row, to the right of the section, click the drop-down arrow, and then select Run.

Or, if you're in the Manual Queue section: In the Action column, in the manual task row, click Pick Up.
The manual task starts and the state changes from Ready to Running. If an OmniScript is associated with the manual task, the OmniScript launches. The "Assigned to User" field is updated to the current user.
