Important State Transition Settings
When creating State Transitions, it's important to specify default and alternate transitions and transition completion criteria.
Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Default Transition |
Default transitions define the "happy path" through the State Model. The Report Card State Model has two default transitions:
|
Alternate |
Alternate transitions define departures from the "happy path". The Report Card State Model has two alternate transitions:
If you don't explicitly define an alternate transition, the target state doesn't appear in the Vlocity State Transition component of the base object's record page unless you transition to it. If you do explicitly define an alternate transition, the target state appears on a drop-down list on the right end of the Vlocity State Transition component. This lets a user select the target state. In the Report Card State Model, alternate transitions are explicitly defined. To see how this affects the Vlocity State Transition component, see Workflow for Testing a State Model. |
State Transition Completion Criteria |
Completion criteria define how multiple State Rules for the same State Transition are evaluated. You have two choices:
All the State Transitions in the Report Card State Model Version are set to Any True. |
