View and Assign Permission Set Groups in Public Sector

Use permission set groups to assign users the permission sets they require based on their persona or job function.

          Required Editions

To view permission set groups: View Setup and configuration
To edit permission set groups: Manage Profiles and Permission Sets
To assign permission sets: Assign Permission Sets

Permission set groups bundle permission sets that give users access to data, automation, and workflows in Public Sector based on their roles and interactions with your agency. To simplify permission management and to give users only the permissions they require, assign permission set groups instead of permission sets.

          Use permission set groups to:

          • Consistently assign the correct permission sets to all users who have a common persona or job role.
          • Reliably audit user access by tracking the permission set group assigned to a user and reviewing the permissions included in the group.
          • Easily update user access by modifying the permissions included in a permission set group.
          Important
Important To prevent permission set group calculation failures, verify these requirements before assigning a permission set group to users.
          • User and permission set licenses: Ensure users have the required licenses for all permissions in the group.
          • Org preferences and settings: Enable the required org preferences or settings for any gated features in the group.

Public Sector includes these permission set groups.

The Salesforce Platform, which underlies Public Sector, or the add-ons that you purchase may provide additional permission set groups. If you have questions about the permission set groups in your org, contact your Salesforce account executive.

If a permission set group is in a Failed status, an org preference required by one of its permission sets might not be enabled in your org. Each permission set in a permission set group is visible only when its corresponding feature is enabled.

These permission set groups have known dependencies. Enable the listed feature in Setup, and then recalculate the permission set group.
