Automation Scope for Data Components
Use this table to understand the level of automation for each data component during migration, and the data component that requires manual effort or expert review.
| Component | Automation Scope | Automation Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Product Catalog | Largely automated | Migration of products, bundles, options, and attributes can largely be automated. |
| Price books | Largely automated | Migration of price books and discount schedules can largely be automated. |
| Pricing Rules and Pricing Logic | Assisted by AI and partially manual | Migration of rule analysis can be automated. Moving to pricing procedures often requires manual redesign. |
| Assets and Subscriptions | Assisted by AI and partially manual | Migrated to Customer Asset Lifecycle Management (CALM). Sequencing of history chains requires careful manual validation. |
| Quote Calculation Plug-ins (QCPs) | Manual only | Requires reimplementation in Revenue Management by using flows and pricing procedures. Migration tooling provides explainability reports to support the redesign. |
| Approvals and Document Templates | Manual only | Handled as a separate workstream and not covered by migration tools. |
| Integrations | Manual only | Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and billing integrations require a separate field-remapping strategy. |
