Create Custom Hyperlink Fields for Your Object in Salesforce Document Generation

Create a custom text field for any object. Map the text field in your object by using Omnistudio Data Mappers to render the hyperlinks in the generated document.

1. Go to Setup, and then click Object Manager.
2. In the Quick Find box, search for the object that you want to add the custom text field to.
3. Click the object name, and then click Field & Relationships.
4. Click New.
5. In Data Type, select Text, and then click Next.
6. Enter the Field Label, Length, and Field Name details, and then click Next.
   For example, the Account URL is the field label.
7. In Field-Level Security for Profile, select Visible for the profiles that must see the custom field. Click Next.
   If you don't set profile visibility for the field, the custom field is hidden from all profiles by default.
8. Select the Dynamic Forms-enabled Lightning record pages that should include the field, then click Next.
   If you don’t have any Dynamic Forms-enabled Lightning record pages for the object, this step doesn’t appear.
9. Select the page layouts that should include the field.
10. Save your changes.
11. On the Field & Relationships tab, search for the custom field.
    For example, Account URL.
12. Note the Field Name (API name) to use later in your Data Mapper Extract.
    For example, ins_238__Account_URL__c. Here ins_238__ is the namespace.
