            Create a Context Mapping for Document Generation

            Configure a context mapping to link nodes and attributes from your context definition to Salesforce fields and objects. These mappings allow document templates to populate tokens with runtime values from related records.

            Required Editions

            Available in: Lightning Experience
            Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
            User Permissions Needed
            To create Context Mappings: DocGen Designer

            Prerequisite: Before you create a context mapping, make sure your context definition is complete and saved.

            1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, find and select Context Mappings.
            2. Select the context definition that you want to add a mapping to.
            3. On the Context Definition Details page, go to the Map Data tab, and click Add Mapping.
            4. Specify the mapping details for hydration mapping.
              1. Give your mapping a name.
              2. Provide a Description. Enter additional details about the context mapping if necessary.
              3. To set this mapping as your default, select Mark as Default.
                At least one hydration mapping must be set as default under each context definition.
              4. Click Next.
            5. To determine the mapping type, select Hydration as the mapping intent.
            6. To begin mapping, click Map.
              You’re directed to the Context Mapping builder page to begin mapping your nodes and attributes.
            7. To continue mapping, seeAdd Context Mapping.
            8. Save your changes.

            After defining your context mapping and its structure, return to the context definition and activate it so it can be used in your document template.
