Add the Generate Document Component to a Screen Flow

Use the Generate Document component in a Screen Flow to generate and optionally merge documents. Customize the flow to filter templates, select files, and control merge behavior. When generation starts, the component processes the request, shows a preview, and provides download options.

Available in: Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions
User Permissions Needed
To invoke Generate Document LWC from a Screen Flow:

CLM Admin User

OR

DocGen Designer
  1. Create or open a Screen Flow.
  2. Add a Screen element.
  3. Drag the Generate Document component into the screen.
  4. Map flow variables to the component’s input parameters, such as the Output Document Name, Document Template, recordId, and Service Function.
  5. To merge documents, add PDF IDs, and pass the list to the component.
  6. Save and activate the Screen Flow.
    The Flow generates documents as part of a guided process and attaches them to the record.
  7. For users to run the Screen Flow from a record page, create a custom action that launches the Flow from the record page.
