User Permissions Needed
To configure stage management: Stage Management Design User
  1. In the Stage Management builder, after you set up a stage transition for a stage, click Add Stage Transition Rules.
  2. Click Add Child Object Criteria and Conditions.
  3. Click Add Child Object, and then select the child object to add the criteria and conditions.
By default, you can configure up to 5 conditions per stage transition. To increase this limit up to a maximum of 20, contact Salesforce Customer Support or your Account Executive.
  4. Save your changes.
    Note
Note For objects with a self-lookup field, set conditions to make sure that the evaluation is accurate. The self-lookup field acts as a reference to the parent object criteria. If the self-lookup field isn't set, the condition evaluates to false.

In the child object criteria, the self-lookup field identifies all child objects whose IDs match the parent object IDs. For example, to close a case only if all related child cases are closed, set the lookup field for the case child object to ParentId, and set the condition to Stage=Closed.

Example
Example
