Select eligible tasks for a record’s current stage, log a reason and comments, and run
the tasks immediately. Use this path when a planned stage transition doesn’t cover a regulatory
deadline, customer request, or error correction.
A Salesforce admin must mark at least one ßstep definition as eligible for on-demand
execution and define the reasons that users can choose from. See Add an
On-Demand Step Definition.
While most business processes are planned, run a task immediately to handle scenarios that
fall outside the planned process. With on-demand task execution in Stage Management, select
one or more eligible tasks for the record’s current stage, log a reason and comments, and
run the tasks.
Open the record that’s in the stage where the on-demand tasks are eligible.
In the Record Stage Overview component, select one or more eligible tasks.
Select a reason, such as Regulatory Requirement,
Customer Request, or Error Correction.
Enter comments that explain why you’re running the tasks now, if needed.
Click Run.
The selected tasks run immediately for the record’s current stage. The reason
and comments are logged with the execution.
