Key account managers use the Close Promotion button to close a promotion. Make sure that you select Enable Accruals before you can enable this setting.
            6. Enter the auto-close offset.
This value defines the number of months after a promotion enters the Committed phase that it's automatically closed. If you don't set a value, the default offset is 12 months.
            7. Select the Phases Eligible For Accruals.
This multi-select picklist defines which promotion phases are eligible for accruals. This field is mandatory if you select Enable Accruals. The value defaults to Committed.
            8. Save your changes.
          2. To define specific accrual calculation rules for tactics, configure the tactic templates that are used to create the tactics.
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Tactic Templates.
            2. Open the tactic template record that you want to configure.

            5. Select the Calculation Method.
This picklist defines how the engine calculates accruals. This field is mandatory if you select Enable Accruals.
You can select from these options.
              • Dynamic: Multiplies the accrual amount by actual daily volume for Rate Per Volume or by daily revenue for Percentage of Revenue.
              • LumpSum (Effective Date): Allocates the entire accrual amount to the start date of the accrual rule measure.
              • LumpSum (Equal Day Distribution): Distributes the accrual amount equally.
            6. Select the Accrual Rule Measure.
This field refers to the KPI definition that defines the rule value for accrual rules. The KPI must be a promotion tactic KPI that writes back values at the product level.
            7. Select the Accrual Input Measure.
This field refers to the KPI definition that specifies the input measure for a dynamic rule. This field is mandatory when the accrual rule type is Dynamic.
            8. Select the Accrual Rule Time Granularity.
This picklist determines if the rule applies to the total time range or a specific period. You can select from these options.
              • Total: Uses the total KPI value for the tactic product time frame.
              • Period: Splits the KPI value by week or period.

For examples of how the system distributes accrual amounts based on your selection, see Example: Accrual Rule Time Granularity.

            9. Enter the Accrual Output Code.
This text code differentiates accrual output record types within the same sales org, such as display tactics and price reductions.
            10. Select Use Accrual Output For Fund Liability
When enabled, liabilities for Tactic Fund and Tactic records are calculated using accrual outputs from Data Cloud instead of planned values.
            11. Select Check Claim Overspend.
This setting activates a check to make sure that claim doesn't exceed the fund amount. This check runs only if this setting is also enabled on the claim template.
            12. Enter the Claim Overspend Threshold.
If the overspent check is enabled, this value defines the maximum percentage by which the claim amount can exceed the accrued amount. For example, entering 5% allows claims up to 105% of the accrued value.
            13. To see the liabilities accrued in the Tactic-Fund card of a promotion, select Use accrual output for fund liabilities
            14. Save your changes.
          3. To enable accruals and overspend checks for payments, configure claim templates for accruals.
The settings on the claim template work with the tactic template to control payment closure.
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Claim Templates.
            2. Open the claim template record that you want to configure.
            3. Click Edit.

            5. Select Check Claim Overspend.
This setting activates the overspent check for claims created from this template. The check runs after the engine closes a claim and this setting is enabled on both the claim template and the tactic template.
            6. Save your changes.
          4. To capture KPIs in a snapshot file when the engine closes a promotion, configure Promotion Template KPI Definitions.
The snapshot saves the key financial data for a closed promotion.
            1. From the App Launcher, find and select Promotion Templates.
            2. Open the promotion template record that you want to configure.

            6. Set the Usage to ClosureSnapshot.
Only KPIs with this usage value are included in the closure snapshot file. The file is automatically attached to the promotion record when it's closed.
            7. Save your changes.
            8. Repeat steps d-g for all the KPIs you want to include in the closure snapshot.
You can configure up to 50 KPI definitions with ClosureSnapshot usage per promotion template.
          5. Trigger the SF Data Sync for Promotion Template and Tactic Template.
