Accruals in Funds

By using this feature, you can see the liabilities accrued for every tactic in the Funds section of the promotion. The engine updates the Liabilities field on tactics and tactic funds with accruals calculated.

You can see the liabilities in the Tactic Fund card of a promotion. If you enable this feature, the Liabilities field of tactic and tactic fund aren't updated by KPI maps.

After a promotion is closed, accruals for the tactics aren’t updated anymore. The next accrual run updates the final liabilities and sets the Final Liability-Updated field of the tactic. Subsequent accrual runs don't pick the promotion for liability update.

For auto-determined funds, only one fund type is linked to a tactic. For example, if you plan a promotion tactic with two categories, there can only be one fund associated with a product related to the category. The accrual output records for all products in the category are aggregated as liability for the category tactic fund. Total liabilities from all tactic funds are aggregated as tactic liability. All these values are stored in the Promotion Tactic Accrual and Promotion Tactic Fund Accrual data lake objects (DLOs) on Data Cloud. These values are updated to Salesforce liability fields by using the data actions: Promotion Tactic Accrual DA and Promotion Tactic Fund Accrual DA.

For manual funds, liabilities from all products are aggregated as tactic-liability. All these values are stored in the Promotion Tactic Accrual and Promotion Tactic Fund Accrual DLOs on Data Cloud. Tactic-liability values are updated in Salesforce by using the Promotion Tactic Accrual DA data action. Based on the Funding % field of tactic fund, the liability is distributed among the tactic funds.
