Use the Product Managers related list to define whether a user or user group is the manager for a product category. The management relation can be defined with respect to a particular customer or for all customers.

For example, Planner A is the product manager for beverages for Kroger Atlanta but isn’t the product manager for snacks for the same customer. At the same time, Planner B can be the product manager for snacks for Kroger Atlanta and Tesco.

When you define a product manager for a product category, and leave the Customer field blank, the product manager is applicable for the product category for all customers for the sales org.

By defining a product manager relation, you can:

          • Restrict the customers that are available to a user when creating or deriving a promotion.
          • Restrict the product categories that are available to a user when creating or editing a promotion.
          • Restrict the customers and the product categories that are available to a user when filtering Trade Calendar and account plan.

The restrictions apply based on the Promotion Access Definition Policy specified in the user’s sales org.
