Configurations for Multiple Tactic Templates as Transfer-Relevant

Marking multiple tactic templates as transfer-relevant controls which template's tactics transfer to Retail Execution, unless you enable Allow_Multi_Template_Transfer to transfer from more than one.

Required Editions

In Trade Promotion Management (TPM), use the same promotion template across promotions. If multiple tactic templates relate to promotions, mark them as transfer-relevant in a Promotion Template Tactic Template record.

The Key Account Manager (KAM) sets up a promotion based on a specific promotion template and decides which tactic to apply during promotion setup. You also control whether promotions with tactics from more than one of those templates transfer to Retail Execution.

You can configure multiple tactic templates as transfer-relevant. However, tactics from only one of the marked templates can be transferred from a TPM promotion. This behavior is enforced by standard validation. To change this behavior, create the Allow_Multi_Template_Transfer system setting with a value of true, as described below.

Important Create the Allow_Multi_Template_Transfer setting only if you replace the standard Promotion Transfer process with your own logic to consolidate TPM promotions and tactics into Retail Execution. Without your own consolidation logic, the Retail Execution promotion contains only the selected tactic's data. If you also create the Skip_Transfer_Prodt_Resol_<salesOrg> setting, the promotion contains no products, and the transfer is incomplete. You take responsibility for the transfer output and for staying within these platform limits: 1,000 products per promotion and 10,000 Data Manipulation Language (DML) operations per transaction. Salesforce doesn't support custom extensions built on this approach.

Mark Multiple Tactic Templates as Transfer-Relevant

By default, Trade Promotion Management (TPM) lets you mark only one tactic template as transfer-relevant per promotion template. To mark more than one, create the Mult_Tactic_Templates_Tfr_Relevant system setting.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Custom Settings and then select Custom Settings.
  2. Find System Setting and click Manage for the setting.
  3. Click New and provide Mult_Tactic_Templates_Tfr_Relevant as the name.
  4. Save your changes.

Transfer Promotions from Multiple Tactic Templates

By default, Trade Promotion Management (TPM) rejects the transfer of a promotion when its tactics come from more than one transfer-relevant Tactic Template. To let those promotions transfer, create the Allow_Multi_Template_Transfer system setting with a value of true.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Custom Settings and then select Custom Settings.
  2. Find System Setting and click Manage for the setting.
  3. Click New and provide Allow_Multi_Template_Transfer as the name.
  4. In the Value field, enter true.
  5. Save your changes.
