To read data for lump sum conditions, the system uses read KPIs that have a value type
of either Money or Volume. The system determines condition values for each day of the requested
timeframe using per day share. Per day share is calculated by the formula: Per Day Share =
Condition Value / Length of condition timeframe.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods
Cloud is enabled
The condition value is calculated by multiplying the per day share with the length of the
condition timeframe valid for the promotion. The resultant condition value is calculated by
adding the values of all the conditions valid for the promotion.
Based on the Dimension Priority and Search Type of condition search rules, the system returns
conditions for the accounts and products for which the measure code is the same in the
condition search rule and in the condition anchor table.
Example Promotion range: July 09 —July 31
The promotion has two conditions as listed
in the table.
Condition
Date From
Date Thru
Condition Value
Length of condition time frame
Per Day Share = Value / Length
C1
June 01
July 15
90
45
90/45 = 2
C2
July 10
Aug 08
60
30
60/30 = 2
The aggregation rule of the condition search group is Sum.
Based on the
promotion timeframe and condition values, the promotion is split into multiple subperiods.
Here’s how the value of each subperiod is calculated.
Subperiod
Date From
Date Thru
Condition Value
1
July 09
July 09
This subperiod has only one day and only C1 is valid. The condition value of
this segment = value of C1 = 2.
2
July 10
July 15
This subperiod has six days and both C1 and C2 are valid. Here’s how the
condition value of this subperiod is calculated:
Per day share of C1 × 6 = 2 × 6 = 12
Per day share of C2 × 6 = 2 × 6 = 12
The resultant condition value = 12 + 12 = 24.
3
July 16
July 31
This subperiod has 16 days and only C2 is valid. The condition value of this
subperiod = per day share of C2 × 16 = 2 × 16 = 32.
