Understanding How Edited KPI Values are Distributed
A KPI’s Distribution Order, Distribution Type (Time Hierarchy), and Distribution Type
(Planning Hierarchy) fields determine how an editable or editable calculated KPI value is
distributed in the Promotion Summary Sheet.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods
Cloud is enabled
The distribution order options are:
Time -> Planning Hierarchy
Planning Hierarchy ->Time
The distribution type options for time and planning hierarchy are:
Metric (KPI)—The edited total or weekly value is distributed across all the planning
hierarchy nodes based on the values of the KPI that is set as the metric for distribution. For
the time hierarchy, the distribution is based on the values of the KPI that is set as the metric
for distribution. The KPI values are redistributed whenever the value of a metric KPI
changes.
Copy—The edited total or weekly value is copied across all the planning hierarchy
nodes.
Equal—The edited total or weekly value is distributed equally to all the immediate
lower-level nodes in the planning hierarchy. Across the time hierarchy, the edited total value
is distributed proportionally based on the number of days of each week that are included in the
promotion.
WDSP—This distribution type is applicable only for distributing values along the time
dimension. The entered values are distributed using the week day share profile.
Note
For distribution across the planning hierarchy, tactics without products aren’t considered.
When distributing across weeks, the weeks that aren’t relevant to a product or tactic aren’t
considered.
For distribution across a time hierarchy, the edited total value is distributed across all
the weeks that have at least one day as part of the time scope of the KPI definition.
Example: KPI Value Distribution When Edits For Months and Quarters is Enabled When manual inputs are entered at a month, week, or quarter level, the values for edited KPIs are distributed down to the sub-period level. The system uses the merge rule to combine values on the sub-period level to week, month, or quarter levels. The time aggregation rule won't be used when edits for months and quarters is enabled
