          Configure BOM Component Aggregation KPIs for a Customer Business Plan

          Perform these tasks to bring BOM Component Aggregation KPIs into a Customer Business Plan.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience
          Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, Einstein 1, and Agentforce 1 editions with Consumer Goods Cloud Trade Promotion Management
          User Permissions Needed
          To create or edit a KPI definition: CGCloud Business Admin

          Enable Writeback for BOM Component KPIs on Promotions

          Make sure that the promotion-level KPI for BOM components has writeback enabled.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select KPI Definitions.
          2. Open a promotion-level BOM component KPI, such as Planned BOM Component Volume.
          3. In the Identification section:
            • Object Scope: Verify that this is set to Promotion.
            • Record Type: Verify that this is set to Calculated, Read, or Editable based on your business logic.
            • BOM Scope: Verify that this is set to Component.
            • Time Granularity: Verify that this is set to Period or Sub Period.
          4. In the Storage Options Settings section:
            • Writeback: Verify that this is set to Enabled.
            • Writeback Code: Enter a unique code, such as PBC1.
            • Storage Levels: Select BomComponent.
          5. Save your changes.

          When promotions are calculated, the system writes BOM component values to the promotion measure result tables with the writeback code.

          Create a Read KPI with Account Scope

          Create a Read KPI definition to read BOM component writebacks from the promotion measure result tables into your customer business plan.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select KPI Definitions.
          2. Click New.
          3. Select the Read record type.
          4. In the Identification section, enter the KPI details.
            • KPI Definition Name: Enter a name that describes the metric, such as CBP_Read_BOM_Component_Volume.
            • Record Type: Verify that this is set to Read.
            • Object Scope: Select Account.
            • BOM Scope: Select Component.
            • Value Type: Select the same type as your promotion KPI, such as Volume.
          5. In the Description section, enter a description for the KPI.
          6. In the Read Type KPI Settings section, configure the read settings.
            • Table Name: Enter or select Weekly Promotion Measure Result.
            • Monthly Table Name: Enter or select Monthly Promotion Measure Result.
            • Read Code: Enter the writeback code configured in Enable Writeback for BOM Component KPIs on Promotions, such as PBC1.
            • BOM Component Source Level: Select Component.
          7. In the Aggregation Settings section, configure the aggregation rules based on your business logic.
            • Aggregation Rule: Select Sum or Avg.
            • Total Calculation Rule: Select Sum or Avg.
            • Merge Rule: Select Sum or Avg.
          8. (Optional) In the Display Settings section, deselect Enabled.
          9. Save your changes.

          Create a BOM Component Aggregation KPI

          Create a KPI definition that aggregates the read BOM component values to the standard product level in the customer business plan.

          • Complete the Create a Read KPI with Account Scope task.

          • Make sure that the KPI Definition object's BOM Component Aggregation record type includes the Account value for the Object Scope field.
          1. From the App Launcher, find and select KPI Definitions.
          2. Click New.
          3. Select the BOM Component Aggregation record type.
          4. In the Identification section, enter the KPI details.
            • KPI Definition Name: Enter a descriptive name, such as CBP_BOM_Component_Aggregation_Volume.
            • Record Type: Verify that this is set to BOM Component Aggregation.
            • Object Scope: Select Account.
            • BOM Scope: Select Product.
            • Time Granularity: Select Period or Sub Period.
            • Time Scope: Select Complete.
            • Value Type: Select the same type as the Read KPI configured in Create a Read KPI with Account Scope.
          5. In the Description section, enter a description for the KPI.
          6. In the BOM Component Aggregation Settings section, for the BOM Component KPI Definition, select the read KPI configured in Create a Read KPI with Account Scope.
            Note
            Note You can select only KPI definitions that have Component selected for their BOM Scope. Verify that the referenced KPI definition has the same object scope and time scope as this KPI definition.
          7. In the Aggregation Settings section, configure the aggregation rules based on your business logic.
            • Aggregation Rule: Select Sum or AVG.
            • Total Calculation Cumulative: Select Off.
            • Aggregation Time Rule: Select Aggregate.
            • Total Calculation Rule: Select Sum or AVG.
            • Merge Rule: Select Sum or AVG.
          8. In the Display Settings section, select Enabled.
          9. Save your changes.

          Add BOM KPIs to an Account Plan KPI Set

          Add the read KPI and BOM aggregation KPI to the account plan KPI set.

          Complete these prerequisites before you configure the KPIs.

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select KPI Sets.
          2. Open your account plan KPI set where Usage is set to Plan.
          3. Click Add KPI Definitions.
          4. Add the Read-type KPI (Component scope) and the BOM component aggregation KPI (Product scope).
          5. Add the KPIs to the Planning subset.
          6. If writeback is enabled for the aggregation KPI, add it to the businessplan storage subset.
          7. Set an appropriate sort order for display.
          8. Click Update Configuration.
            When you update the configuration, the system validates the BOM scope compatibility, sets the bomcomponentsrequired flag to true in the KPI set configuration, and enables BOM component aggregation for all account plans by using this KPI set.
