Guidelines for Rounding Within Period Rounding Type
To make sure that you don’t lose the manually adjusted KPI for a product or a period,
even when the manually entered values are rounded, use the rounding type Rounding Within Period.
This rounding type adjusts the KPI values within the period that a manual input is added in, and
therefore, the manually adjusted KPI values for other periods aren’t overridden.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods
Cloud is enabled
Here are the guidelines for using the Rounding within Period rounding type:
Make sure that the View and Edit for Months and Quarters setting is enabled in your sales
organization.
Use for only editable and editable calculated KPIs.
Use for only the main KPI of a compound KPI.
Use with the rounding order Sub Periods Then Period.
Make sure that only 20 KPIs in a KPI set have this rounding type because using this setting
slows down KPI calculations.
Use when you manually adjust KPIs values at any levels other than total period and total
product. For example, use this rounding type when you manually adjust a KPI’s weekly value for a
product category or a KPI’s value for the total period for a product. However, don’t use this
rounding type when you manually adjust a KPI’s value for the total period for a product
category.
Use if the value for Distribution Type (Time Hierarchy) of the KPI isn’t set to Copy.
