Combining and Linking Claims
Many imported claims are deductions and are related to a common planning anchor. If at least two claims have the same planning anchor, then combine these claims for easy handling. When you combine claims, the system creates a parent claim record that’s related to all selected (child) claims. You can see these records in the Child Claims related list of the parent claim. After claims are combined, the system changes the family status of the selected claims from Orphan to Adopted and locks the child claims. After you combine multiple claims and a parent claim is created, link to the parent claim the other claims that have the same planning anchor as the parent claim.
- Combine Claims
To help resolvers, such as account managers, resolve claims at one go, combine claims. - Link Claims
To simplify resolving claims, link the claims that have the same planning anchor as a valid parent claim. When claims are linked, the child claim records are locked, the claim's family status changes to Adopted, and the calculations are always done at the parent level. And the child claim record appears in the parent claim's Child Claims related list. - Unlink Claims
When claims are linked, the child claims are locked. To unlock a child claim, unlink the claim from the parent claim.
