While editing a parent promotion, if a user updates the parent promotion but forgets to
push it, the system doesn't update the changes in the child promotion. To resolve this, the system
automatically repushes promotions by triggering the push process again.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods
Cloud is enabled
Prerequisites
To automatically execute the repush process, ensure that the:
Sales org is configured to repush automatically (Automatic Promotion Push flag is selected
as True).
Promotion was manually pushed earlier.
Promotion has sync-relevant changes. For example, a user changes an attribute that's defined
in the sync-relevant fields (fields defined in the Fields To Sync field sets) of a promotion or
tactic, updates information that's related to participating customers, updates tactics or
attachments, or modifies categories. Sync-relevant fields are customizable.
If a user leaves a promotion, the system automatically executes a repush of that promotion,
subject to fulfilling the prerequisites mentioned earlier.
After the repush is initiated, the parent promotion is selected as Read-only and the Push
button and Participating Customers card are disabled until the process is completed. However, if
the push process faces an error or takes longer than the specified time limit, the parent
promotion is unblocked.
If a promotion can't be repushed automatically (for example, the user abruptly closes the
browser or logs out of the application), then whenever the user opens that promotion the next
time, the system shows an icon with a message reminding the user to trigger the automatic repush
again.
The system also verifies whether a user reaches the maximum number of push processes (limited
to 25). If the user reaches the maximum push process limit, promotions can't be automatically
repushed. On exceeding the limit, the system creates a user notification and the user must
reinitiate the push process manually.
