Understanding How KPIs are Calculated Based on Custom Calendars

Understand how the system reads and shows values for a custom calendar.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled

When a custom calendar is activated for a sales org, the P&L and account plan views reflect values for the periods in the custom calendar. To retrieve and show values for a custom calendar, the system:

          • Uses custom periods to create weekly sub periods.
          • Uses standard calendar months to create monthly sub periods.
          • Uses object scope and time scope of a KPI and its conditions to determine timeframes.
          • Considers customer category profile or weekday share profile to calculate the share for the days of the custom week. If the share of a period is zero, then the system equally distributes the values to all sub periods.
          Note
Note For custom periods, the system doesn’t consider the First Day of Week and First Week of Year. But, considers the first period with the start date in the new year as period 1 of the year.
