Determination of Previous-Year Values from Weekly Measure Tables

Determination of Previous-Year Values from Weekly Measure Tables

Understand how weekly data for custom calendars is read from the Weekly Measure tables.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled

You can configure a Read KPI to read weekly data for custom calendars from the Weekly Measure Real or Weekly Measure Int tables with a year offset for a particular time scope. To calculate the data, the system:

          • Determines the relevant period based on the time scope of the promotion.
          • Determines the subperiods for the relevant period.
          • Retrieves the value of each subperiod based on the weekday share profile.
          • Maps the subperiod values from the previous year to the sub period values of the current year.
          • Merges the subperiod values to determine the value of the relevant period.
          Example
          Example Here’s some sample data:
          • Year offset = 1
          • Weekday share profile = 1/n
          • Time Scope = In-store
Sample data for reading data from weekly measure tables

The promotion period is from Dec 22, 2021 – Jan 17, 2022 and the in-store period of the promotion period is from Dec 25, 2021 – Jan 10, 2022. The in-store period includes four sub periods and the value of each sub period for the current year is mapped from the corresponding sub period values of the previous year. Here’s how the value of each sub period is determined based on the weekday share profile:

          • Sub period 1: Dec 25 = 70/7 = 10
          • Sub period 2: Dec 26 – Jan 01 = (10+10) + (100 + 100 + 100 +100) = 420
          • Sub period 3: Jan 02 – Jan 08 = (100 + 100 + 100) + (10+10+10+10+10) = 350
          • Sub period 4: Jan 09 – Jan 10 = (10+10) = 20

          The value of the in-store period is the sum of all the sub period values = 10 + 420 + 350 + 20 = 800.
