Assign a Child Promotion Template to a Promotion Template
The Child Promotion Templates related list shows the list of promotion templates that are assigned to a promotion template. Use child templates to derive promotions out of any promotion that's created using the parent promotion template. You can also use child templates to push promotions from higher levels of the trade org hierarchy to lower planning levels.
Required Editions
Available in: Lightning Experience Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled |
- From the App Launcher, find and select Promotion Templates.
- On the Promotion Templates page, select the promotion template to which you want to add a child promotion template.
- Click Related.
- Go to Child Promotion Templates | New.
-
On the Promotion Template Hierarchy page, select a child promotion template.
To create a template hierarchy for the copy process, add the same promotion template as the child. For the push and derive process, add a child template by configuring the attributes that are mentioned in this table.
Attribute of Child Promotion Template Push Derive Sales Org Same as source promotion template Same as parent promotion template Product Definition Policy Same as source promotion template Same as parent promotion template BOM Handling Same as source promotion template Same as parent promotion template Product Definition Level Same as source promotion template Same as parent promotion template UI Type Smart UI Same as parent promotion template Promotion Type Promotion Same as parent promotion template Anchor Type Customer Customer Active Yes Yes Pushable No No Derivable Yes/No Yes/No
Note You can add only one non-pushable child promotion template to the pushable parent promotion template. However, you can add multiple copyable or derivable child promotion templates to the parent promotion template. -
In the Copied Components field, select one or more components from these options:
- Products
- Tactics
- Notes
- Manual
- TCCD
Note- When you derive, copy, or push a promotion, the system copies the selected components from the parent or source promotion to the child or target promotions. TCCDs are copied to the child promotion only if you selected Products and Tactics also.
- The notes copied component field has been deprecated and is planned for removal in future product releases.
-
In the Usage field, select the process for which this record is used. This field is used to
determine the child or target promotion templates for the parent or source promotion template.
For example, if you select the Usage as Derive, the child promotion templates that are mapped
to this promotion template appear in the promotion template dropdown list in the derive
process. The options are:
- Copy
- Derive
- Push
-
In the Child Promo Relevant KPI Definition 1/2/3 fields, select the KPI definitions that
represent the manual entries whose values are transferred from the parent promotion to the
child promotions during the push process.
Note- If the parent promotion template is Pushable and Push Process Flow is selected as Distribute And Calculate, ensure that users assign at least one Child Promo Relevant KPI Definition.
- Ensure that the KPIs selected in these fields are a part of the KPI set that's added in the Calculation Configuration of the parent promotion template and the Distribution Type (Customer Hierarchy) isn't selected as None.
- Ensure that the KPIs selected in these fields are unique. However, you can define them in any order. The only requirement is that you define in these fields all the KPIs (that represent the manual entries) that you want to push to the child promotions.
-
Save your changes.
Note After you assign a child promotion template to a pushable or derivable promotion template, you can’t edit the BOM handling field of the parent and child promotion templates.
