          Create a Tactic Template

          You can create a tactic template by cloning an existing tactic template.

          Required Editions

          Available in: Lightning Experience

          Available in: Enterprise and Unlimited Editions where Consumer Goods Cloud is enabled

          1. From the App Launcher, find and select Tactic Templates.
          2. On the Tactic Templates page, click New.
          3. Enter these details.
            Field Description
            Identification -
            Tactic Template Name Name of the tactic template.
            Tactic Type Type of tactic. The options are:
            • Display
            • DisplayPerAbs
            • PriceReduction
            • PriceReductionPerAbs

            The default value is Display.

            Sales Org Sales organization to which the tactic template belongs. After you create a tactic template, you can't change this value.
            Active Indicates whether the template is active. You can use only active templates to create tactics.
            Order Relevant Indicates whether the tactic template is relevant for use in Field Sales Management.

            Note This field isn’t applicable.
            UI Contract UI Contract that's mapped to the tactic template. The system shows the layout of the tactic according to the UI Contract that's selected in the tactic template.

            Note This field isn’t applicable. To customize Trade Promotion Management, configure smart UI Lightning Web Components (LWCs).
            Tactic Total Amount Determines the progress bar that the system shows in the Fund selection grid. The options are:
            • Plan Spend: The progress bar shows the sum of amounts indicated on the selected funds against the tactic's plan spend.
            • LE Spend: The progress bar shows the sum of amounts indicated on the selected funds against the tactic's LE spend.
            • 100%: You can enter the percentage value in the Amount column while selecting funds in the grid. The shaded portion on the progress bar shows the sum of the percentages.
            Copy Manual Input Determines whether manual inputs of a tactic are copied when a tactic is duplicated.
            Lift Types  
            Possible Lift Types The lift type to use for lift value calculation. The options are:
            • Percentage: The Lift Type field of the tactic isn’t editable and considered as percentage by default.
            • Percentage / Absolute: The Lift Type field of the tactic is editable.

            Salesforce recommends that these template settings match the UI contract that's assigned to the tactic template:

            • If you want to select the Possible Lift Type as Percentage, ensure that the UI Contract contains the Lift field.
            • If you want to select the Possible Lift Type as Percentage / Absolute, ensure that the UI Contract contains the Lift_Value field.

            Note UI contracts aren't supported any longer. To customize Trade Promotion Management, configure smart UI Lightning Web Components (LWCs).
            Default Lift Types Default lift type of the tactic. The options are:
            • Percentage
            • Absolute

            Description Language 4

            A description of the tactic template in the languages that you configured for the sales organization. The Description Language 1 field is mandatory.
            Display Settings  
            Display KPI Subset

            Subsets filters for KPIs that the system shows in the Spend Planning card of tactics.

            The options are:

            • Planning
            • Monitoring
            • Finance
            • Retailer
            • Broker
            • VPC
            • SPC
            • Promotion Scenarios
            • SPC Lump sum
            • SPC PR
            • Adjustment (Adjustment KPIs in scenario planning)
            • Baseline Management
            • Mid Level Planning
            • PromoUI

            Note
            • For the KPI definitions that you assigned to this KPI subset, ensure that you select the object scope as Promotion Tactic.
            • Users with the requisite permissions can extend this list. However, if you add a value to this picklist, ensure that the same is added to the KPI Subsets field of the user settings.
            Condition Settings  
            Enable Condition Creation

            Indicates whether the tactics created with this tactic template can create conditions.

            The default value is False.

            Condition Product Group Level Defines the product level at which the system sends conditions to external systems. The options are:
            • Category
            • Sub Category
            • Brand
            • Sub Brand
            • Product Price Group
            • Product

            Note Ensure that the product group level (other than product) that you selected in this field is available in the selected Available Product Group Level of the linked promotion template.
            Condition Source KPI KPI definition that's written into the condition created for the tactic that uses this template. BOM header products are related to the tactics that are created using this template.

            • If you select the Enable Condition Creation option, ensure that this field isn't empty.

            • You can write only one KPI definition into the created condition. Ensure that the selected KPI has the record type selected as Editable, edit mode selected as Total, and object scope selected as Promotion Tactic.
            • Ensure that the BOM Scope of the selected KPI definition contains Product. If the Condition Source KPI for BOM Header field is empty, then the BOM Scope of the KPI definition can contain Header in addition to Product.

            Condition Change Rule Defines the manner in which the past conditions are treated. The options are:
            • Update: The past conditions get updated.
            • Finish: The past conditions freeze.

            Reference to the additional KPI definitions 1/2/3 that you can use to write tactic product conditions created out of the tactics based on this tactic template.
          4. Save your changes.
