När ett paket läggs till skriver det inte över ankarprodukten. Istället skapar konsumtionshantering en underordnad hink för paketets specifika bidrag. Denna nya underordnade hink samlas i samma överordnade hink som ankarprodukten. Den överordnade hinken återspeglar nu den kombinerade totalsumman för både ankaret och paketet.
I detta fall har den överordnade hinken nu flera underordnade hinkar att välja mellan. Därför använder konsumtionshantering den dragningsorder du specificerade för att bestämma hinken att dra av förbrukningen från först.
