Settings for Radial Graphs
The following Relationship Graph Admin Config tool settings apply to radial graphs.
Standard radial graphs have rectangles that represent objects, connected by lines that represent the relationships between them. Each rectangle lists information about the object. You can list additional information in a tooltip.
Compact radial graphs have configurable node shapes that represent objects, connected by lines that represent the relationships between them. You can list object information in tooltips.
For color options, see the HTML Color Picker. All numeric values represent pixels unless otherwise specified.
Select a Node Type of Standard or Compact. This setting determines which other settings are displayed.
Specify the Graph Height in pixels.
Change the Node Spacing to set the minimum space between nodes.
All other Node Configuration settings apply only to compact nodes.
To change the color and thickness of node borders, change the Strike Color and Strike Width in the Node Configuration.
To change the size of node shapes, change the Node Width.
To change the length of node labels, change the Node Title Length in characters.
To change the color and thickness of node borders for the root node, change the Strike Color and Strike Width in the Context Node Configuration.
Select an object type such as Contact, then click Add to add a tab for that object to the Node Display Field Configuration.
For each object, select the General Settings fields for which values are displayed for each node:
-
Title — The default field is Name. Appears on both standard and compact nodes.
-
Subtitle — Optional. No default field. Appears on both standard and compact nodes.
-
Description — Optional. No default field. Appears only on standard nodes.
-
Picture — The default field is PhotoUrl. Appears on both standard and compact nodes.
-
Record Page Layout — The layout used when a user clicks View/Edit in a node pop-up. If no layout is specified, the default layout for the object type is used.
For more information, see Page Layouts in the Salesforce help.
See the Settings for All Graph Types for Tooltip Fields and Filter Configuration.
In radial graphs with standard nodes, tooltip fields are displayed in each node. If no Tooltip Fields are selected, all available fields are included for both standard and compact nodes.
You can add up to five icons to standard nodes. Icons let you see abbreviated information about a node at a glance.
In the Node Display Field Configuration, next to Icon Configuration, click Add Icon to create an icon.
Specify the following properties for each icon:
-
Property Name — Specifies the name of a field, for example, vlocity_ins__Gender__c.
This field must be included in the Node Configuration of the Template.
-
Operator — Specifies an operator. Options are equals, not equal to, greater than, less than, contains, and does not contain.
-
Compare Value — Specifies the value of the field, for example, female.
-
Icon Color — Specifies the icon color.
-
Display Text — Specifies the text on the icon, for example, F.
The icon text should be as brief as possible.
Shape Configuration settings apply only to compact nodes.
You can specify different shapes for different node types:
-
Default Shape — Specifies the default shape for nodes not listed in one of the Property fields, either Circle or Rectangle.
-
Shape Key — Specifies the basis on which nodes get different shapes. To specify field values in the Property fields, enter the field name. To specify object types in the Property fields, enter SObjectType.
You can only use fields specified in the Field List of a Relationship Graph Node Type related to your graph. See Workflow for Creating a Relationship Graph Template. For custom fields, include the namespace. For example, if the namespace is
vlocity_ins, you can assign different shapes based on gender by specifying vlocity_ins__Gender__c. -
Property — If the Shape Key is a field such as vlocity_ins__Gender__c, specify a value of that field, such as Female. If the Shape Key is SObjectType, specify an object type such as Contact.
-
Value — Specifies the shape for nodes with the corresponding Property, either Circle or Rectangle.
Relationship strengths between Contacts range from 1 (weak) to 5 (strong).
To change the thickness, color, and type of lines representing relationships of different strengths, change the Stroke Width, Stroke Color, and Stroke Type. For Stroke Type, choose Solid or Dashed.
For dashed lines, use the Stroke Dash Array to set the length of the dashes and the spaces between them in pixels. For example, a value of 6,3 sets the dashes to six pixels and the spaces to three pixels.
To control the display of relationship labels on the lines, set Display Path Labels to Show or Hide.
Expand the Others section to change these settings.
To display Strength field values, set Display Strength Field in Tooltip to Show.
To display a legend of what the line styles and node shapes mean, set Display Legend to Show.
