Overview of New and Enhanced Features in Winter '19
New features and enhancements have been added to Vlocity Contract Lifecycle Management in the Winter '19, specifically related to Frame Agreements, Document Clauses, General Terms, and Attachment Download Configuration.
Frame Agreements
You can now set up product level, category level and account level discounts in frame agreements and use them to drive pricing of future sales. Frame agreements can also hold general terms (non-pricing terms such as payment period, warranty duration, and so on). By using frame agreements, you can save time by avoiding the need for individual contracts for each new deal, because terms are pre-negotiated by the frame agreement. You create frame agreements directly from opportunities, quotes, and orders, and then amend them when a change needs to be made. See Frame Agreements.
Document Clauses
You can insert document clauses into DOCX templates by using custom tokens in DOCX files. When you upload the DOCX files into templates, CLM replaces the tokens with the full clause text. You can define short names for clauses, which you can use in the custom tokens. Additionally, you can easily format clauses using a Rich Text Editor with a Formatted Clause checkbox. For Web templates, you can add formatted clauses and CLM maintains the formatting. See Using Tokens for Document Clauses in Microsoft Word Files.
General Terms
For sales contracts or frame agreements, contract administrators can now define General Terms. General Terms are non-pricing terms, such as payment period, termination notice period, warranty duration, fulfillment date, and so on. General Terms are set up with attributes containing picklist values that users (such as salespeople) select when working on the contract. The General Terms are available in the terms library and are assigned to specific Contract Types, which means a contract automatically inherits the General Terms assigned to its Contract Type. See Creating General Terms.
Attachment Download Configuration
To control whether or not users can download attachments in CLM by clicking on thumbnail images in the Document Detail component of the Contract page, you use a new Vlocity Action called Disable Download. When you import the ContractDocumentSeedActionsUpperCase static resource, the Disable Download action is available in the Vlocity Actions tab and you must change a filter value to apply the functionality. After you change the filter value, your users can no longer download attachments in Document Details for contracts.
To control what types of attachments users can download after generating documents from the contract generate and view user interfaces, you use a new Contract Type setting called ContractDocumentDownloadOption. In Contract Types, you enter values for this setting that represents the types of documents you want to display for your users to download (Word only, PDF only, Word and PDF, or none).
