Customer Stories and Story Quick Actions APIs

Customer Stories and Story Quick Actions APIs

A story is a timeline of anything Salesforce logs for each customer or account. For a specified parent object, stories show the child objects in chronological order on one page. The Stories APIs get that information to display. Without these APIs, you would have to run multiple queries to get all of the child objects.

For more information, see Vlocity Customer Story.

A customer story parent object, such as Contact, can have many story objects. When a story object enables a quick action, this story object can be created for the parent object. For example, Contact has Case, Note, Event, Task, and Opportunity as story objects. Note, Event, and Task story objects are enabled as quick actions.

The Customer Stories and Story Quick Actions APIs include the following:

  • Get Next Stories
Get the next page or list of stories for a Contact, Account, or any top-level object.
  • Get Stories
Get an initial list of stories for a Contact, Account, or any top-level object. Give it a top-level object ID and it returns the child objects for that ID.
  • Get Stories for Days
Get a list of stories for a user or an Account, Contact, or any top-level object. If days is a negative number, such as -7, get the stories between Today-7 and Today—past stories.
  • Get Stories of Type
Get a list of stories for a specified story object associated with a Contact, an Account, or any parent object.
  • Get Story Quick Actions
The Get Story Quick Actions API gets a list of story parent object ID.
  • Post Story Quick Actions
Create a story object for a parent object ID.
