Decision Table-Based Promotion

When customers fulfill conditions specified in the decision table, they get the corresponding rewards.

Required Editions

Available in: Lightning Experience
Available in: Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer Editions with Real-Time Offer Management

If customers fulfill any of the conditions in the decision table, they get:

  • 10% cart discount
  • 10% discount on unit price of product or category products
Tip
Tip The Decision Table-Based Promotion template is well suited for industries whose promotion eligibility criteria don't map to the retail-specific pricing promotion templates, or for promotions that have many similar rules that differ only by a small set of values. For example, an insurance company can offer a different discount percentage for each combination of product, premium term, and signed and submission date range. Instead of creating a rule for each combination, define the combinations as rows in a decision table and let the template generate the rules for you.

Prerequisites for Using the Decision Table-Based Promotion Template

Marketing managers typically work with admins to ensure that these prerequisites are completed before they configure a promotion rule with the Decision Table-Based Promotion template. See Create a Decision Table for the Decision Table-Based Promotion Template

How the Decision Table-Based Promotion Template Works

Unlike other pricing promotion templates, the Decision Table-Based Promotion template doesn't have a separate What Customers Do section—you select the decision table, map its output to a reward, and add the rule rows that decide when a customer's cart qualifies for the reward, all from the What Customers Get section.

Select the decision table that you want to use, and then select the numeric output column of that decision table that supplies the discount value for each rule.
